Brian, Victory and I have a morning praise and worship playlist that we play most mornings. Some days, certain songs hit differently for no obvious reason most times. This morning, I was overwhelmed with the fact that we can SEEK the Lord. When we do, He WILL HEAR and HE WILL ANSWER!

“I sought the Lord. And He heard and He answered! I trust in God!”

I knew the song must come from Scripture so I looked it up to refresh my memory. And it comes from a Psalm of David.

Our son chooses our “Game of the Night” on weekend nights that he is with us. The other night he chose- Bible Trivia. One of the answers was about when David pretended to be insane to escape a dangerous situation. I couldn’t remember that story very well and had planned on looking it up. Well, wouldn’t you know…. The psalm that this song/phrase led me to is a psalm of David “regarding the time he pretended to he insane in front of Abimelech…”

“I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; He saved me from all my troubles. For the angel of the Lord is a guard; He surrounds and defends all who fear Him. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34‬:‭4‬-‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There are a lot of circumstances and situations I have been seeking Jesus about. I felt JOY and excitement this morning. I know that when I seek Him, He HEARS and He answers! He is not afar off. He is close to me. He is also close to you in your trials and temptations. He is there in your disappointments and disasters. He is close by. Listening, hearing, and answering in a way only He can.

I haven’t seen the change that I pray to see in the circumstances I’m praying about. Although, I have that joy the psalm is talking about. And I know He hears me and He answers me and He is in control. I can trust Him!

✨ Reflection Prompt:
What situation in your life are you still watching for visible change? How might God be inviting you to trust His nearness and His answer, even before the circumstances shift?

💬 Call to Action:
Today, intentionally seek Him. Do not pray in a rushed, drive-by manner. Instead, take focused time. Open Scripture and play a worship song. Bring one specific fear or unanswered prayer before the Lord. Choose to trust that He hears you. Trust that He is already at work, even if the evidence hasn’t caught up yet. Write it down. Come back to it. Let joy be your quiet declaration of faith.

Because trusting God before the breakthrough? That’s where victory actually starts.
