Who We Are: Living with Victory and Life with a Medically Complex Child
Welcome to our brand-new blog – Living with Victory! We’re the Downey family. I’m Corrine, and my husband is Brian. Together, we’re raising our beautiful, medically complex daughter, Victory Rose. We also have a 14-year-old son — my bonus son — who is the most amazing big brother and a huge part of our family (we’ll share more about him when he’s ready).
Both Brian and I will be contributing to this blog. It may end up being more one than the other — and that’s ok! Our hope is that this blog becomes a place where readers can find encouragement, faith, and hope through our journey of life with a medically complex child.
Our Purpose: Encouragement for Every Family
We’re writing for families like ours — medical families — but also for “typical” families, single parents, and anyone who needs a reminder that they’re not alone. We’re not perfect, and you’ll probably find typos and tangents along the way, but that’s real life — and that’s what this space is all about.
If you’ve followed us on Facebook or know us personally, you already know parts of our story. Here, we’ll go deeper — sharing moments we’ve never shared before — because our prayer is that someone walking through something similar will find hope in knowing they’re not alone.
Behind every smile in our photos is a fire we’ve walked through — and the One who’s walked with us in it. Our story is one of faith. We’ll be touching on that — most likely in every blog.

Raising a medically complex child has meant countless appointments, sleepless nights, and moments of fear mixed with miracles. Life didn’t come with a manual. Especially when you’re raising a medically complex child and holding tight to faith, family, and everyday victories.
We are Brian and Corrine: believers in miracles, and a family learning to live with Victory every single day.
This blog isn’t about perfection or sugar-coated stories. It’s about real struggles, raw faith, and the powerful hope that carries us through. We’ll share what it means to walk with Jesus in the fire. We will share what it means to lean on His strength while navigating the challenges of life with a medically complex child with grit, grace, and honesty.
